Following on from last year, T.A.S. at Manchester Airport Viewing Park are once again holding an ‘Aviation and Transport Fair’ over the 09/10 July 2011.
Last year was our FIRST participation with cockpits compromising of a Tornado, Jet Provost, Lightning and a 2 seat Vampire. We were graced with a superb RR Griffin V12 roaring to life and a lovely ‘Flying Flea’ G-ADRZ static.
This is a growing event and we are asking for anyone interested in bringing along ‘something’ that falls into the category to contact us here by PM or via email: lakeslightnings@hotmail.co.uk
T.A.S. has offered some nice incentives for participants which is listed below. All we ask is you co-ordinate your attendance through ‘Lakes Lightnings’ please as we’ve been tasked to run with this side of the event to inload the organisers!
Please do come along and support this event…kindly spread the word!
The ‘Incentives on offer’ are:
1. A large trophy for “The best Cockpit” attending the event.(!!!!!)
2.Camping / Caravans free at the Romper pub – as per last year (but we need to know in advance)
3. £25 per cockpit voucher or cash for drink / food / expenses
4. The travel lodge is offering us a special rate of just £15 per night
5. Free tea / coffee throughout the weekend with our voucher
6. Should you wish we can look at providing a BBQ for you in the park on Saturday night
Basically, you tell us what you want and we will do our best to facilitate / meet your needs!

3 More pictures of 2010’s event along with the narrative published on the T.A.S. website:
T.A.S. webpage states:
‘What’s happening outside the Concorde Hangar over the weekend?
All of the RVP exhibits will be open for viewing and there will be lots of other activities taking place associated with transport- vintage and classic cars, buses and trucks, military vehicles and fire engines, aircraft cockpits from all over the UK and a selection of preserved aircraft will be on display, in addition transport clubs and societies will be promoting their activities.
