Can someone tell me how the canopy on the F3/MK30 is retained on the rails?
Ours is missing this item and am interested to see how it works and whether or not we can manufacture a replacement.
cheers

Terry,
I take it they are a hard item to source?
Wouldn’t they be a mirror image of each other?

Vampire/Venom canopy Jettison
It is held in by a canopy jettison latch rail on each side. Pulling the jettison handle moves the rail rearwards allowing the rail and canopy to fly up and away.
Normal removal requires winding the canopy back and depressing the spring loaded stop.
Hope this helps, PM me if you need more, and iof you have a latch rail for the starboard side, please can I have it!

P-K,
We have nothing to prevent it from sliding back, also nothing that stops it from lifting either. I’ll double check to see where this peg should be.
On each side there is 4 rectangular cut-outs that look like they should containg something along the lines of a small rail that should prevent it from lifting.
Finding a Maintenance Manual or even decent clos-up pictures is proving to be a right pain.

Hi there, you should have a 1/4 inch square peg at the rear of the aircraft rail that should be spring loaded, on the port side.
