Saturday June 18th:
Today’s Evening Air Display at Old Warden revealed a temporary new look on ‘Miss Kenya’, the DH.51 G-EBIR. A good stand-in for a film, maybe?
The display saw the debut from the Shuttleworth Collection’s latest addition, Slingsby T.6 Kirby Kite BGA310:
I’ll leave it to the experts to cover the flying display (weather restricted naturally).

Fantastic – what’s the motorcycle?
It looks like the collection’s own Scott Squirrel sidecar.
As others have said, the DH.51 looks very nice indeed. Is the new paint a kind of removable acrylic, or something longer term?

Yes, it’s currently airworthy and the new scheme may well be around for a little while.
I believe the intention is that Miss Kenya will fly in the advert (weather permitting).
And Yrs, that’s the 504 in the background.

Is the DH51 currently airworthy ? Have not seen it at a show recently. Is the ATT scheme a temporary job or can we expect to see it later in the year ? All ways nice to see ‘old friends’ wearing new clothes.

Well, the ‘504 is under long-term rebuild, so that probably is it in the photo…

What’s the fuselage frame behind the dH51? Looks a bit Avro 504-ish to me.
