Somebody I met yesterday was doing some local building work recently and was asked to skip some boxes of bric-a-brac for this lady whos husband had just died.He`s given me some aviation items(actually sold,for a very reasonable price) ,some of the artefacts ,which,he tells me,are from a Battle of Britain Pilot.
He informed me the recently deceased mans name was `Payne` (sorry no first name) and he taught Polish pilots during the Battle of Britain in Spitfires.Post war he started up a Coach Tour Business which was one of the first in the country and did very well. Any ideas anyone?

I had a chuckle to myself over this.
The older memers amongst us might remember in the 50s and 60 there was a boys comic called The Lion and one of the regulare characters was a Paddy Payne, Battle of Britain Pilot. MY childhood hero character.
