Filton Concorde Gets a Million Euros

Lead story on BBC West news this lunchtime; Airbus is to underwrite part of the cost of the proposed Filton Concorde museum building. The piece stated that the a/c will not re-open for the forseeable future since all funds are being channelled towards the building project. They are apparently waiting on a lottery heritage fund grant application in about a month’s time.

The good news is the million Euros, the bad news is the statement that the building ( read visitor centre) will cost over over £10 million sterling.

Good news indeed, but can somebody tell me why the “visitor centre” has to be so complex and costly?
