Good afternoon all,
I am trying to find a picture of a Botha cockpit and so far have drawn a blank. Tried all the usual sources online (Flight archive etc etc) without success.
Could anyone either point me in the right direction or maybe even provide a picture?
Apologies if this request has gone out before but the lack of search function at the moment means I cannot check.

I have a copy of the pilot’s notes for the Botha, that includes the cockpit sides as well as the IP and also a simplified fuselage cutaway. I’m sure the notes are still available through Crecy(?).

I’d go with CeBro!
The Botha was never a glamour queen but she was part of our heritage and something that should not be forgotten.
Look at what can be achieved from CeBro’s work on the Halifax cockpit. Yes it takes time but when you look back it will all be worth it.
Fill a void in our aviation heritage…

Bob,
With such a project you don’t need to be in a hurry and why should you.
The whole process of it is totally enjoying, it has it’s nasty times (speaking from experience) but it’s worthwhile in the end and you will be filling a gap.
Go for it, and surprise the naysayers.
Cheers

We’ve got some small fuselage structural parts from L6314 which might be useful for patterns if you can identify them. Bob, do you have a parts list because I’d like to know what they are?

Thus far my Botha project has centred around researching what components are still out there and available for sale (not a lot), what information is available to recreate parts which are not available (again, not a lot), and looking at the large amount of double curved canopy sections and thinking ‘bu**er’.
The result of this is that I’m even more determined but recognise from the outset that this will take lots of time, luck and plenty of help.
Seriously though, any pointers towards drawings, manuals and especially parts would be very gratefully received. Fingers crossed that the Cockpitfest Aeroboot provides some parts! Please feel free to come and have a chat as I’ll be there with the Dumfries crew.

Indeed XV806.
I was just asking out of curiousity given they were operated from Hooton Park. Though if Johnny K wasnt already on the case would seriously consider doing something!
If you read this Johnny K, how are efforts going?

No i’m sure it was ‘Johnny Kavanagh’ from the Dumfries museum who was after a project to do.

I thought there was a guy on here gathering information to produce a new-build cockpit or fuselage. Is this you Jon H?
