G-SABR F-86A goes on sale

Just a heads up.

I have just noticed on the Courtesy Aircraft website that the UK-based F-86A is on offer at a cool $1,000,000. Still a few hours to go before the Euromillions draw!

I hope that it stays in the UK I was rather looking forward to seeing it fly this season.

Can’t see an American jet ending up at Coventry, but hope Kennet take a shine to it!

Be great with the collection. Some nit pickers wouldnt like it in RAf colours, but as long as it stays here it doesnt mater what colour it is.

I though it had already been sold! Im sure last year they were saying at the Duxford shows that it could be its last display. I had also heard that it had been sold to the states but would stay in the UK for this year.
Only time will tell!

I am fortunate enough to see / hear this rare bird virtually everytime she flies, and yes i have always thought that each time could be the last.

And i fear at that price she won’t be on these shores much longer, so as Adlertag says enjoy her while you can.

She was displayed brilliantly at Old Warden on May 1st, so she is still active despite being up for sale. See her while you can!

Frankly I’m stunned that we’ve had her in the UK so long- the only airworthy F86A, the oldest flying jet in the world, you’d have thought US collectors would have been making irrefusable offers years ago…

re;

Thats a shame, its ages since I last saw her displayed. Lets hope she goes to Coventry. She seems to have plenty of bookings this year and theres no mention on the website.
