Thanks Paul will pass on the info , a quick google says they were sent over to GB on lend lease and used among other things used for ferrying pilots to pick up new aircraft. I think they used mainly liberators at Dunkerswell but I expect there were a host of other aircraft types there, Upottery and Culmhead RAF Fighter base are within a few miles of Dukerswell.

Hi Graham,
I would suggest that the numbers read “Model 86AB-54”, fitted to a Fairchild UC-61K (Argus III) with a 200hp Ranger engine. One of my favourite aeroplanes.:)

Presume it has been modified to have a clock fitted at some time? Looks like PT19 but would there have been any in the UK?
