The Comet has resided at Old Warden now for a number of years ever since Hatfield closed I believe.
I know that several issues have kept it grounded including runway performance and handling issues at OW as well as undercarriage design/strength problems.
It is maintained in a taxiable condition but I wondered if we might see it in tha air again especially as 2014 will be the 80th anniversary of its flight to Australia.
Does anyone know of plans to fly it or would it need to be homed somewhere where the runway length is more suitable.
