Hi Everyone
I am currently working on a project and in need of film footage of air to air of a Russian TU-160.
Along with the film , I would need to know who owns the rights to it so that I could get permission to use the footage. ( youtube type sites no good- can’t trace ownership)
Anyone got any leads ?
Thanks

It isn’t a ‘Tee You’ (in caps) – it’s a Tu (pronounced ‘Too’)
From the name of the founder of the OKB – Andrei Tupolev.
The first two letters of his last name – Tupolev.Same with Sukhoi (Su / Soo) – not ‘Ess You’.
You know i reckon there’s a touch too much sensitivity hereabouts. I read this with interest. It was news to me and I thought, well done that (flanker) man, for telling us.
And then a bunch of people get all bitter and twisted about it. WTF!
The (good) thing about this forum is that it’s a place to learn. Sometimes a poster will phrase things in a way that might at a glance be misconstrued, it pays to take a breath and see through that.

My apologies if it came across as trolling or showing off or smug ‘I know more than you’ – I was merely trying to set the record straight.
I’m off to get a life now……

Good luck in your quest, having only been involved/viewing this forum/site for a short while, relatively, I am struck by the i know more than you set and their smug postings!! If they really knew that blue was up they would be in the White Swan having a beer with proper pilots.
Happy landings matey all the best with your quest.

Thank you to all the forum members that gave me leads.
It is much appreciated:)
As for the forum trolls that skulk around looking for things to nit pick about…..you are not impressing anyone…. maybe you should just try to lighten up a wee bit and maybe get a life :dev2:

Is that named after the Belyy Lebed in Flintshire? It used to be in the good beer guide!!

And I would respectfully suggest that an incorrrect case on an aircraft designation (that I suspect an awful lot of forumites would know about, but not want to SHOW OFF about knowing) matters not one jot

Fleet, how about writing to the Russian Embassy in London, they may be able to point you in the right direction (….probably towards an oddly shaped rock underneath the third tree from the side-gate in Kensington Gardens…).
Joking apart, suspect the copyright rests with the Russian Government as the successors to the old Soviet Government, so it may be worth a try. You’ll only lose the price of a stamp if you don’t get a reply.

Er… how does all this showing off help Fleet???

We could also mention Mikoyan-Gurevich
Dear friends !
MiG – it is not “Mikoyan-Gurevich” !
MiG – it is “Mikoyan-i–Gurevich” (“Mikoyan and Gurevich” in English. Or You can write – Mikoyan & Gurevich :D).
Hello from Russia !
Regards,
Flyer.

I can’t help with the footage – but may I just have a nit-pick – all in the name of accuracy you understand??
It isn’t a ‘Tee You’ (in caps) – it’s a Tu (pronounced ‘Too’)
From the name of the founder of the OKB – Andrei Tupolev.
The first two letters of his last name – Tupolev.
Same with Sukhoi (Su / Soo) – not ‘Ess You’.

PS – The Tu-160 (NATO Blackjack) is nicknamed ‘Belyy Lebed’ (White Swan) by the crews.
