I posted some pics of this before – but now that I have it in my sweaty little mitts – I have some better pics.
I think it is a landing flap from a low speed aircraft – one that had wooden wings with fabric covering ?
The hinge has pieces of red doped – blue painted fabric.
The hinge has wooden spar end remains (?)
The stencilling is nicht anfassen.
Any ideas ?

After some discussion on the LEMB – it has been proposed that this is from a Bucker Bu181 Bestmann.
Seems to fit the pictures , size and construction.
Any of these under restoration that need a flap ?

Don’t know what the dimensions are, but could this be a spoiler (airbrake) for a (transport) glider?

Thanks Merlin – previously it had been proposed as a bomb bay door or undercarriage door – as there were insufficient ribs/reinforcement cf FW190 flap.
However with the cloth and the wood thrown into the mix – is a low speed Landing flap an option?

Well the stencil reads in English translation. Do Not Touch. Which ties in with it being Aileron etc.
Interesting to see what others can put to this.
