Akrotiri Wrecks and Relics

Just got back from another work trip courtesy of her Majesty and got some pics of the historic and wreck aircraft at RAF Akrotiri

The Front gate still has its Duo of Lightning and Whirlwind. Both look in great condition and are being looked after by the station.

The Akrotiri station Museum still has Wessex HC2 XR504 parked outside.

The Flying club has its own gate guard and this is a Murphy Rebel, 5B-HAF, COA expired 1999.

Finally and contrary to what was reported in Wrecks & Relics 21, Phantom XV470 is still clinging to life over near Golf dispersal. It has lost its canopies, engines and nose cone and is looking very sad.
