I was an early bird at a fleamarket yesterday,and was the first to see a box of about 20 solid cast aluminium aircraft all stamped with the crown of the Royal Danish airforce.Perhaps tools for training anti-aircraft gunners??
Can anyone tell me if these were likely made circa 1955 as a local initiative or were these Nato Standard items used throughout Europe????
They were £16 each ,but I only bought the Mosquito B-35
Most were the same size,just a bit bigger than the span of a large hand and painted gray. Because of this standard size rather than any scale,the B-29 and Avro Lincoln were rather skinny compared to the fat bodied Saab J29, which alongside the J32 Lansen had Saab painted on,the only items which were labelled so then must have been regarded as hard to recognise.Other aircraft present were T33,F84,DH Hornet,DH Vampire,Dakota and one that looked like a Privateer……but zero traces of any Spitfires or British Navy types
A handful were black and half the size of the rest, all American including a B-47 and a T6.One was olive green in the standard size and the crispest casting of the lot, a Skyraider
