Here’s a collection of pictures taken at the RAeS Garden Party, White Waltham on May 14th 1950. I’ve included images from some damaged negatives, they were too interesting to omit.

G-ABMR Hawker Hart II. Built in 1931, this remarkable aircraft remained airworthy until it was retired to the RAF Museum in 1972. Now at Hendon as J9941:
G-AMAU Hawker Hurricane IIC. Debut airshow appearance by the final production Hurricane (Only registered May 1st ) Passed To RAF for BBMF in 1972 as PZ865:
G-EBMB Hawker Cygnet I. Wfu by 1957, also passed to RAF Museum, and at Cosford since 2003:
G-AFTA Hawker Tomtit. Still active at Old Warden as K1785. ( Spotters were much smarter sixty years ago ):
G-ACTF Comper CLA.7 Swift. Another survivor, still flying at Old Warden:
G-ALUA Brunswick Zaunkoenig. A ‘War Trophy’, to EI-AYU in 1974, then D-EBCQ and now preserved Deutsches Museum:
F-WFAN Hurel-Dubois HD.10.(Helpful Titles) Later F-BFAN, and now preserved Musee De L’Air at Le Bourget:

G-AFGI Chilton DW.1. Still active 2011, and still at White Waltham. Very glamorous couple in attendance.
