When I arrived at Duxford Friday morning, Spitfire T9 and the desert Buchon were outside on the grass in the ARCo compound. I then spied Terence the Tug at Hangar 2 as his handlers started playing musical aeroplanes as they re-arranged the de havilland collection to extract the Stearman. I then noticed that a Hurricane had joined the Buchon and Spitfire and made a nice looking trio. Many thank to Col who gave me a close up look around them during his lunch break. Greatly appreciated. While out there, Cliff Spink arrived in the Mk XVI Spitfire/TD248 with the new owner arriving by air a short time later. After a check flight in the T9 with some circuits and landings, the new owner took TD248 on his first flight in it. I’m sure he had a big grin on his face as taxied passed to park it. The only change at the Museum is that the south side of Hangar 5/Restoration, has been cleared with nearly everything crammed into the north side. For those who don’t know the reason why this has happened, what would ‘YOU’ like to see in there. Speculate away.
Apart from the cloudy conditions, trying to rain and feeling bitterly cold, a very enjoyable day out.
