Dornier 217E4 piece ID please

Can anyone give a positive ID for this pipe,
It has the serial DF2, covering the serial was thick washer (top left of photo).

Hummm, I do not think the tomato is the correct shade of red for the period.
It just does not match.

OH!, wait! Maybe its covered in oil, making it look a different coloUr! 😉

Chris, can you put a ruler next to the items in question?
Hard to judge scale.

But don’t expect an answer, it could be anywhere.

Its difficult to get a sense of scale, or material it is made of – but it appears solid?

Could I suggest it might be a push-rod?
