Getting a perpex canopy blown

Can anyone suggest any good companies that can blow perspex panels with compound curves at a reasonable price?

Thanks for any leads….

could do with details too

I could do with some links too for a new meteor NF14 canopy for Solway Av. Museum.

Thanks,

David Price

We use Brian Stow; he used to work for one of the major players in the industry and now works on his own. He did us some Spitfire canopies using an existing mould, and he can make moulds for you. A really nice chap, I’ll dig out his details if you’re interested.

Blown Perspex

We are at that stage right now with our Proctors! Not sure who John is using other then that’s it a local firm in Colchester. Looks like i will be at the workshop tomorrow, not having been for some weeks thanks to a filthy cold and chest infection. John carrying out the rebuilds says that to quote i will be blown away (excuse pun) with progress!
It may be that the new transparencies are back at the shop including a brand new D/F loop cover all in clear uncracked beautiful new clear perspex. Its about that time that i posted a further up date on the Proctor re builds watch this space. If you need more info on our firm send me a pm and i will oblige.

Depends on what you want, and what you have as a start!

I’ve always found White Ellerton in Borehamwood to be good value, and very efficient. They have done work for BBMF and others in the past.

you dont believe in doing anything in small sizes do you Scott……:p

Often wondered what happened to the one outside our Hangar ( 240 OCU) at RAF Odius in the 70’s, it had the engine in you know…. they had the daft Idea to paint it camo because the original white wasn’t tactical and could be seen from the air…….. the bloody great tin shed full of wessex and pumas behind it obviously was invisible!!

There’s a local firm doing an early Hurricane screen for us, though a slight degree of approximation into a compound of simple geometrical shapes (in reality only putting things a couple of milimeters out in some places) has been necessary to make it affordable. If no joy with RR’s people, I’ll get you the number.
