It is sad to hear this morning of the passing of Bill Ison, the legendary Chief Flying Instructor of the Cambridge Flying Group, who for more than 60 years instructed on Tiger Moths at Cambridge.

Sad news, but what a career!
I was privileged to be at a Moth Club event at Marshalls, celebrating the Tiger Moth, where Bill was one of the guest speakers. He told some great stories about his life in aviation, one or two of them fairly “blue” if I remember!
A real character; and one who will have touched the lives of many on this forum, I’m sure!

What an interesting life Bill must have had?
My Dad used to fly Tiger Moths from Baginton Coventry in the late 40’s early 50’s – there were 2 one was HO and I cant recall the other, I think both had girls names on the side too.
RIP Bill.
