Interesting. So if the museum refute their claim to ownership then has the museum said where it came from?

Alan,

Did you have a contract with them at the time? These things
happen over time, after a while they “forget” who owns the
item. Happend over here many times.

Cheers
Cees

One of my friends and his dad had a cockpit section at a museum. They left it ther for a few years. The old people at the museum moved on or died. So when they tried to get it back they had no luck, as there was no paper work. My friends father has since past on and his son gave up trying to get it back.

What the article, perhaps, didn’t say…..

“the propeller was found ontop of a pile of wood and some fabric material that staff dragged outside and made a bonfire of. A pair of wheels was noticed too” :diablo::diablo::diablo:

My god! I’ve just remembered loaning it to them in 1973!

It’s time I got it back.

Breguet Cowl in Cumbria.

I have a cowl section from a Breguet 591 in my store.

Fortunately I recall how it got here and it was not on loan from AM.

Maybe I should contact the Cumberland News.

Sadly the Museum has no records of how this propeller came to be in Barnsley, so if you can help then please contact Cannon Hall Museum on 01226 790270.

If you can come up with a story of how the prop came into the hands of Cannon Hall Museum then staff will display the propeller in the Experience Barnsley project when it opens in 2012.
