can't find where i saw a photo of dh88 comet in raf camo

Hi All,
Old age is creaping on…:o
I am sure that I once saw a photo, a ‘noseish’ shot of a DH88 comet in raf camo, but despite searching my mags and hard drives I can’t find it.
I thought I saw it in a letter a reader sent in to an old issue of flypast.
Anyone any ideas or leads ?
cheers
Jerry

Maybe RAF colours, but ‘camouflaged’?

Yes, I posted the link purely to back up what Webpilot had said.

So I’m not the only one. My first look at the picture made me think they had issued the same serial twice, K5054 is what I mistook it for too.

Was it one of the French Comets You saw ?

Hi, could it have been one of the French Comets or the Caudron C.640 Typhon ?

I don’t think G-ACSS was ever camouflaged when in evaluation by the RAF. This occurred in 1936/7 and the aircraft was all over silver. By the time RAF machines began donning their warpaint from 1938, G-ACSS was back in civvy hands and then was stored at Gravesend through the war years.
