Old D.H part ID.

I bought this some years ago, any ideas what aircraft it
may be from?

I think the style of the DH logo changed over the years, but I don’t know much about it. Seems to me that is one of the earlier versions, which could help date it at least.

Moth Club or de Havilland Support would know – but I’m sure the required expertise is here as well!

Not a one,,,
Iwas thinking it could be a foot hold on to the a/c ,or rudder pedals.
It appears to be broken off,from a larger piece.Puss Moth?
