Tempest/Typhoon Crash Near Luton Summer 1945

Looking for more info relating to this accident, pilot bailed out over Dunstable, aircraft came down on the Lower Luton Road at some point during the summer of 1945.

Most probably operating from Luton with Napier?

Tempest JN814 23.5.44 crashed on test where?

A bit of Googling turned this up. I give no warranty as to its accuracy, but it seems to rule it out as a candidate.

23 May 44 JN814 force landed and turned over; S/L Phillips seriously injured (Napier test pilot). Airframe retained by Napiers as instructional airframe 4829M

NX235 04.11.49 crashed in aeros Luton. Mr A Sutcliffe.
