Have had this knocking around in the garage for some time and found it the other day, I cant remember where or what it came from or off !
Stainless steel about 10 cm stamped AW 41902 1SS1 inspectors stamp AW 656 ? Armstrong Whitworth I guess.
Does anyone here know ? Whitley ?
Thanks in advance.

The Hurricane one is different: the item (Hurri) is twice the length, half the thickness of metal, a little bit diff in shape and has a proper Hurri ref No. starting with an ‘A’, would never have an AW part number.
cheers
Tony
ps i prob have a spare AW/Meteor item!!

Did that bracket come from a hurricane dig? Wow – surprising…

Thanks chaps,
It would be a coincidence if this is from a T7, as I have one of those seats!
Although it didn’t come from that one, I’m hoping to use the seat in a future Hurricane project.
Tony, I had spotted it on page 113 of the Hurricane manual, but thought hmmm to good to be true, having said that it would make sense now that it did come from a Hurricane dig from several years ago, you havent got another one have you ?
Also i’m in the market for any other parts you may have spare for sale 😉
Don’t know if I’ll make it to cockpitfest just yet though 😀

It actually looks more like the seat part (from a Meteor T7 or similar, that had a seat almost identical to a Hurricanes) and basically there were two of these that went on the sides (at the bottom) to allow the lap straps to be anchored to the seat. I have removed at least two from seats and sold on at s
aerojumbles (too nice to throw away!)

Hi Ant
Yes, it’s an AW part but not Whitley – the number is outside the range. I think it’s highly likely to be Albermarle, although I don’t have a parts catalogue to confirm – David Stansfield will be your man.
