A finely judged landing with an already rough running engine. To avoid a stall and total landing gear collapse after the bounce over the lip shows outstanding airmanship. It also must have been bloody frightening!

There used to be a legendary bump near the gliding club (now Classic Wings) hangar end (eastern end) of the grass runway.
In the Russavia days, I believe the advice with the Rapide was don’t try and touch down too close to the threshold. I think we had at least one go-round following a good bounce there!

Flying Legends, a couple of years back I think.
So must have touched down east of the taxiway and at the point of crossing it he was “launched” across it. A very lucky man……
