Critical Past

Forumites may be interested to know of a website called Critical Past containing
fascinating historic aviation footage to view. I’ve just enjoyed watching quality black and white images of Spitfires of 66, 41, 222 and 603 Squadrons plus Defiants of 264 Squadron. Some of the shots may be familiar but these sequences are the originals and haven’t been shortened to fit a longer programme. The website’s designed for film researchers to buy footage for programmes, so they can watch stuff before they buy. I could positively identify one Spitfire of 222 Squadron, X4478. All other aircraft seem to have had their serials painted out. There’s a standout shot of a formation landing by 222. Over to the experts to identify airfields etc. Kirton in Lindsey comes to mind ?
