The link below takes you to a two page article on the future of Aviation in the USA as seen in 1929, by 19 of the leading experts of that day. The one on naval aviation is interesting. A lot of the predictions were made before the Depression cut the defense budget, but it is the prediction about catapults being on all warships (including submarines and destroyers) and merchant ships.
