I guess it’s really a fuselage section as pretty much everything aft of the wing has been removed.

Most people who remember this say it was gone by about 76-77. However a chap I knew, had a family connection with the Princess was keen to acquire a piece, so made contact with the yard in the 70’s. He told me 1) the story about the staircase, 2) the problem the section was causing for the yard and 3) a big piece (or pieces) of what see in the photo was still within the yard when he visited in 1980 but was gone at the time of his next visit at Christmas 81.

He also said the yard was very difficult to deal with so he only has a few very small items including a rather nice SR marked decal label from the cockpit.
