An old friend of mine is planning a visit to Berlin next year,to revisit somewhere where he was stationed whilst in the RAF.
He’s chosen to go in 2011 because this will be the fiftieth anniversary of the buildng of the Berlin wall,an event which happened whilst he was there.
From what I can gather,his work in the RAF was connected with ” electronic intelligence “,but he won’t give any more details. Apparently there were about thirty men engaged in this work.
So what I’m asking is,is there anyone reading this who was stationed at RAF Gatow in 1961 who has any memories of this time ? I’d be very grateful to hear any reminiscences,particularly as my friend isn’t in the best of health and it’s quite a while until August next year.
