Not exactly aviation related but never the less, a great man who contributed so much to the war effort and who, with all his colleagues, greatly shortened the war and helped the allies to achieve victory.
These code breakers truly are unsung heroes of WWII.

Amongst the rariefied few geniuses at Bletchley Peter Hilton and Alan Turing stood out. Hilton’s contribution cannot be overstated neither can his judgment about the impact on the war, had Turing’s premature death occurred even earlier.
The “backroom boys” might have lacked the derring-do of the front-line fighters but their contribution was no less.
