There all
I wonder if some of you could help us with this issue.
I am planning a series in 1/72 scale of the Bf108 in RAF markings. There are a lot of them but the main problem at least for us is to have an idea about how they were painted. We do not have any idea about German paints nor schemes.
I have found two different capturated Bf108 in the desert.
1) Reference IPMS NSW Magazine, vol 4 N°3

2) Reference ‘Gold Wings and Webbed Feet’ Don Nairn’s book. (Please find the following: http://rnzaf.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Wartime&action=display&thread=12138)

Does any of you have further information of these aircrafts or others Bf108 capturated in the desert?
Any idea of the color camouflage?
Many thanks in advance
Kind regards
Santiago

G-ATBG might well have been, but my first thought was G-ETME, currently sporting that smart Battle of Britain Bf109E scheme.
You’re probably right, I was relying on my memory (haven’t got current access to my photo records) which has been known to let me down – more often than I’d like.

More extensive details on the Sonderkommando Blaich and Fort Lamy bombings in January 1942 can be found here. The scheme worn by G-ETME was indeed based on photos I supplied to it owner of the units Bf108…

The markings worn previously were pretty authentic – worn by a ‘108 which flew to Chad with a Heinkel 111 to bomb an RAF supply depot, as I recall?

Don’t know how authentic it was, but wasn’t G-ATBG dressed in desert camo for a while some years ago.
