Apologies if this has already been spotted and noted on the forum, but it might make a nice Christmas Present for someone

Certainly, a cockpit is a better proposition than a complete aircraft for most – it can be kept in a double garage for a start.
There is still a lot to spend on this one if you want it right.

I still think it’s not a bad buy for auction prices these days, I’m not saying a bargain but certainly ok. Someone did well to get it for £500 in the first place, but that does happen, if you have the right contacts
WJ, I think cockpits are more attractive and potentially easier to sell now than complete, or most bits of a, dead aircraft.

The auction catalogue description states that the booms and tailplane are included in the sale but no wings. Seems a bit strange to scrap the wings even assuming that they weren’t that good. Surley a rough complete aeroplane with an incomplete cockpit is a better bet for resale at a later date than an incomplete cockpit with tailfeathers?

Photos are taken rather carefully…
Panel not complete; gunsight mechanisms missing, aft perspex missing, Canopy not fitted.
Price is high.

Actually if it goes for its lower price estimate that is quite a bargain in the cockpit world these days, looks quite sound and relatively complete with seats and panle with it.
PLUS £330 in commission and VAT don’t forget. And then add on another 3% + VAT if you bid on-line. And you can bet it won’t sell for less as I’ll wager the reserve is the bottom estimate.
Still sound cheap? Considering it sold at Mallams in Abingdon back in July for £600 (+ commission + VAT) and doesn’t look like much if anything has been done to it since.

Vampires have very little problem in that regard.

Lead lined vanadium underpants might be a cheaper pressie for those with bits of kit that glow in the dark. LOL!!

A tad high on the estimates – it sold for under £500 a few months ago, and that was with wings and booms (since scrapped I believe)
Lots missing too.
