Evening all,
Can anyone out there identify the stowage box as shown below? This taken from a Spitfire II parts book, alas I only have the illustration pages. (Ref no 21762).
The actual item measures 12″ x 3″ x 8″ approx, light alloy construction. As far as I can tell not one of the boxs mounted in the cockpit ie map case etc. Any info as to it’s usage, location etc greatly appreciated.
Ta, Chumpy.
PS The ghost image inside the box is from the other side of the page.

Well done vacb!
What a splendid title, only the Brits would fit a ‘Ditty Box’, have seen it mentioned in parts books before. Looks to be the Spit version of a glove-comparment, wonder what they stashed in there?
If it’s anything like one in my car it’s full up with knackered cassettes, old tax discs, pens that dont work, tattered A-Z etc etc!
Many thanks, Chumpy.
