We’re just putting together a basket-case Gipsy Major 1. for static display and are short of a few items. Can you help?
The main items required are:
2 x aluminium cylinder heads
3 x early coarse-finned liners
16 x cyl head nuts
Additionally, if they’re out there a few of these parts would be nice (but not essential) for this project:
4 x sets, valve rocker gear assemblies
1 x Mk.1. data plate
1 x propeller boss adaptor
2 x magnetoes
wiring harness and spark plugs
1 x carburettor
4 x exhaust pipes
Anything else which you may have and think we might need.
All parts required can be rusty/scrap/cracked etc. etc. – it’s just a static engine.
We have some spare rocker covers and three, wrong-type steel liners which are narrower finned and are probably off a later Major or a Queen engine, for swaps.

Bronze and Ali heads are different castings, also the hold down studs are of different lengths, the Ali head ones are longer.

Only asked for ali heads because the two we have got are ali. It doesn’t matter really. Do you know if bronze and ali heads are the same casting?
Actually XM692, you have reminded me that we are missing two of the studs so a couple of those would be great, thanks. The piece of baffle might be useful but I don’t think we need the flame trap as it won’t be seen.

The ignition tubes are the tubes that the ignition leads are held in along the side of the engine. Will try and post a pic of the bits.
Sure you want Ali Heads?? early Gipsy Majors tended to have Bronze heads.

I have a slightly bent prop hub you are welcome to and i think a couple of ignition tubes.:)
