Oscar Rees DSO DFC was my father. He flew 3 tours. 2 with bomber command and 1 with Pathfinders. He logged over 5000 hours, many of which were in Whitleys. I have his log books and medals.

The original poster on WIX (Tanker 336) is searching for further information on his uncle Oscar Rees who is the Flight Sergeant pictured on the right of of the five crew members that are not in flying gear.

Possibly No.102 (Ceylon) Squadron based at RAF Driffield. Squadron code is DY.

The Whitley with the fabric (?) missing from the starboard wing – it’s a known incident, and a similar has featured elsewhere.
