Repainting Chipmunk Wings ??

Is there any way of getting the old paint off my canvas covered Chipmunk wings without recovering them.If I `overpaint` them..what sort of paint do I use ?

The question has to be: Is this for an airworthy job or just a static?

If for airworthy standards, I´d say recover the lot and THEN paint.

If for static, sand the existing paint down (600 wet paper) and then paint to your liking with two pack auto paint with an added flex agent!

How long has the fabric been on there and what is it??? Linen or polyester??
I would personaly recomend removing it and recovering anyway!
