Military or Civilian Pilots at Yatesbury?

During his time at 2 Electrical and Wireless School, Yatesbury my father made four flights in a Dominie.

My father’s logbook which is posted states that the pilots of the Dominies were, Mr. Hancocks, Mr. Norman and Mr. Griiffiths.

My question for the forum is, as these pilots are not listed with a military rank but as plain Mister, were Messers Hancocks, Norman and Griffiths civilian employees of the R.A.F.?

From the World War 2 Airfields site page about Yatesbury at: http://worldwar2airfields.fotopic.net/c594076.html
”The number of Dominies (the RAF name for DH Rapides) engaged in this role increased in proportion, but these were again operated mainly under contract by the Bristol Aircraft Company, many of them operating under the title of the Bristol Wireless Flight. “
I can’t help, but I’m glad you’ve asked about this, I saw your post the other day with the log book scan and wondered about the status of the pilots myself.

I am sure that the pilots must have been civilian David.
Warrant Officers were sometimes referred to as ‘Mr’ – but that term would normally have been used by a commissioned officer…not by an ‘ERK’
I am sure somebody on here will know which company had the contract for supplying pilots for Yatesbury .
