RAF Bomber Wing Tip ID?

Hi everyone.

I have some pictures of a wing tip which was recovered from East Germany. I assume it is a Lancaster but I am not really an expert.
Anyone else?

Pete, I am not sure if the mod plates on the wingtip would have a serial number or not. Sometimes the serial number was written inside on the skin itself but not having experience with wingtips I can’t say for sure..

Pete – if the tip is detachable there may be a serial number inside but I think the odds are against it. Cheers

Hard to tell but it looks like the small mod plates are missing as well..?

Peter, is (or was) there anything on it which would provide the aircraft serial number?
I only do engines, I`m totally in the dark with airframes!!

Thanks for all the replies, I asked him about numbers and he hasn`t got back with any yet. He said it had a label on it originally with details of the crash, but it has been lost!! Typical.

Very nice wingtip and yes definately lancaster. Any ideas as to a serial number or crash details??

On the first Photo there appears to be a manufacturers plate- that may give a clue.

Looking at my Hasagawa kit, I would say Lancaster – lovely item to have!
