Fred Bateman 'Sally B' Pilot.

I wonder if anyone has any career details of Fred Bateman who was a pilot on Sally B B17. I know he flew the aircraft many years ago, but nothing more. Any info would be appreciated.

Yes, he was part of the Sally B crew during the 80s. He retired as a 747 Captain with KLM in 1980, then flew one more year with Garuda. I know this for a fact, as I am his daughter. My father died in 2008 and I now have his KLM1 number plate!

I seem to remember this chap if it’s the right one.
I think he flew for KLM as he used to turn up a duxford in his car which had the registration of KLM1.
Not much I know, but at least it’s something!
