german Rocket aircraft on TV last night

I watched a program on I think national geographic last night quite late about 11.30 they were making reconstructions of pivitol moments in Hitlers life with CGI. They featured a rocket powered aircraft I think they called it the Sky Bird, it was designed to take off from a ramp and fly on the edge of space skipping off the atmosphere like a skimming stone at an incredible speed. Designed to attack the US.
I watch allot of stuff like this but have never seen this aircraft mentioned before, obviously it didnt make it off the drawing board, luckily, would it of worked? its hard to fathom how far ahead of their time some of these German engineers were.
They created a CGI based on the blue prints, it would not look out of place flying along side the space shuttle.

Luckily for us… they meddled with so many ‘advanced concepts’ that they never got many of them fully working ,the V1+V2 were pretty successful – but a lot of the other stuff was pie in the sky and would have waited for computer technology to make them work properly.
