I don’t know if other restoration projects have this, but in the Mosquito hangar here in Christchurch is a box of mystery parts, many of which have been kindly deposited upon us on the assumption that they are Mossie related, but which we are at a loss to identify. By the way if anyone is interested in some recent piccies of this project and sundry other goings on at Ferrymead, a couple of us posted some pics on Dave Homewood’s forum a few weeks back.
I wonder if anyone here would be able to put a name to any of the following. If any of these parts are neither Mossie nor from another aircraft in the Ferrymead Collection, and they are of interest, send me a PM as we are always open for swapsies. Any clues would be much appreciated.
Cheers
OK so here goes: The first part is an alloy bracket, approximately 120mmx70mm, stamped TD5932 and P74

Finally, a tubular steel shaft with an alloy pulley mounted on it. The pulley is notched to take the end of a cable, and is stamped 166070 and P.S.P. The shaft has an outside diameter of ~19mm and a length of ~360mm, and the pulley has a diameter of 76mm.

There quite a few more, but I don’t want to be greedy. Answers on the back of an envelope to…

The next is 3 alloy castings, one of which is stamped WW68. There is a spring-steel catch attached to one side, and one of the castings is slotted and slides freely. The whole affair is about 300mm long. And we appear to have two of them.
