Historic Aircraft in Spain?

Having been in Spain with the (ex-Spanish) Merlin recently, I wondered if there is any kind of “Warbird” scene there? I know they have quite a few Military airshows, but what about historic aircraft?

Hi Pete you could always try the obvious and drop a line to Casa I think they still exist in one form or another. Some of these companies can be helpfull for example in the long distant past found some of the German companies very helpfull.

Thanks Guys. The I16 was a surprise, would never have guessed that one.
Rich, I was hoping someone would come and tell me where there was still a cache of CASA / Hispano spares, but no such luck! I think the Merlin engines were leased by Rolls-Royce, although I`m not 100% certain of that, however, I know the Spanish did plenty of overhauls on them, so there would have been a load of spare parts about.

I’ve seen a picture of a control tower in Spain with the nose of a licence built He111 cockpit stuck to it. It does make you wonder how much stuff is left out there.

Some ex military types are operated by the FIO. I used to be a member – they’re a really friendly and professional group. See: http://www.fio.es
