Albacore N4167 crashed at 819288 and Walrus W3023 at 818288. The location is between the summit and King Kenneth’s Cairn. We found some small parts of both aircraft back in the late 90’s after being shown by a local farmer.
The crews were LAC C.H Grubb, LAC T.D DeCuna, and LT H.M Pollock on the Albacore. Sub/Lt. D.V Lunn and LAC G.G.G Cuny were on the Walrus.
Both aircraft crashed at the same time during a night flying exercise.

The Albacore did indeed crash in Glen Turret, hitting the hillside a quarter of a mile from where the Walrus crashed.
A medical team from RAF Errol visited the crash sites shortly after the incidents.

I suspect you are correct Alan,i have visited possible crash site of Walrus but not found any evidence of the of the crash so far.I was chatting to a local man in Crieff who didnt recall the accident either. He did say he remembers a JU 88 crashing in Glen Turret, that could possibly be the Walrus…who knows??..thanks again Alan.

There are three No.754 Sqn airmen listed as killed on this date, but I suspect that the Lang Craig you have read about is the Lang Craig 6 miles NE of Arbroath.
