In the October Issue of Flypast there’s an article with a Lancaster that has nose art called Thumper III. It remined me that I’d seen a picture of a similar nose art before when I had been looking through the Lawrence Wright collection held at Middle Wallop. Here it is

So its a Whitley not a Lanc, but which one and its just Thumper not Thumper III so what was Thumper II?
Does anyone out there have the answers?

unsure !! but on the thumper theme , there was also a p47 with thumper nose art so it was probably very popular !!
