BofB day – taken out to a gourmet lunch locally by OC No1(F) Squadron & the Squadron’s ‘Auntie’ – couldn’t think why we had to stand out in the gale, looking out over the Cotswolds – or why the CO kept glancing at his watch. Asked if we were short of time – no, plenty of that.
Then – at the exact time of our planned lunch – 1pm – a Harrier ripped through the sky over our heads. Just happened to be on a routine exercise in the area. So spot on!!
It takes a lot to get me excited – especially after weeks of BofBism – but that really had the hairs on end!! A personal flyover – what’s left??
Bless ’em, Tim

Thoroughly deserved, Tim.
Without you and your comrades we wouldn’t have Harriers 70 years on. Thank you.
