More Spitfire questions

I have a question about the Spitfire MK IXE wing. Are the panels where the .303 Brownings are located on the C wing Different on the E wing? There are fairings on the lower panels behind the shell ejection chutes on both the inboard and outboard guns. On the outboard on the upper wing there is a blister on the access panel. Were all these blisters and fairings removed on the E wing and replaced with a flat metal skin to reduce drag?
