Weekend at Duxford – 28/29Aug10

The weekend didn’t quite pan out for me as I was expecting the Sikorsky S-38 to drop in to Duxford as part of its transatlantic flight to Berlin. As is the way of things, British weather being the main culprit, it didn’t happen so third time lucky on Monday then. The two day’s weren’t a complete waste as I had a new Sony 500mm(750mm with crop)/F8 Reflex lens and I was photographing anything that was flying (all flying shots in this post) as I tried out different settings and other things. A lot of deleting to do now.
The Rolls-Royce Spitfire is sitting in the ARCo Hangar before going into the workshop for a bit more TLC. TFC are all under one roof now the hangar door runners have been replaced. Lots of big white tents are also being erected for the air show next weekend. The British weather struck again on Sunday afternoon as the T.28, which was off to Little Gransden, was sitting doing its power checks, it started raining and it turned around and parked up again.
