I am in the process of clearing “stuff” from my garage and am coming across all sorts of things including some aviation publications.
I have found 55 copies of “The Aeroplane Spotter” newspaper – not a complete run but from No.152 (27 December 1945) to No.217 (10 July 1948). No. 217 was the “Enlarged Final Issue”.
“The Aeroplane Spotter” was published fortnightly from 2 January 1941 and edited by Charles W. Cain, the founder of Air-Britain. Although on newsprint, my copies have been stored in an official Beagle folder (picked up at a Farnborough Air Show in the late-1950s or early 1960s), were kept dry indoors for years and then wrapped in plastic and sealed for storage in the garage. They may not be perfect but, despite their age, are in good condition. The newsprint has barely yellowed at all, which is remarkable in itself.
I shall be drawing up a list over the next day or so and, if anyone is interested in buying them, please PM me.
