19 tons of Lancaster; 70 meters and only 8 Young Farmers.
Spilsby Young Farmers are embarking on the most unusual challenge; funds will be raised for Help for Heroes and Lincolnshire Rural Support Network by pulling Avro Lancaster NX611 ‘Just Jane’ across the concrete aircraft pan at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre.
The 30th August 2010 marks the 65th Anniversary of NX611with a big celebration at the Centre encompassing Spitfire and Mustang flying displays, Lancaster taxy runs and the ‘big pull’ of the Lancaster in front of a crowd of over a thousand people.
Never in the field of human endeavour has so much been pulled by so few in front of so many (at the Centre).
Your admission would not only enable you to see all of these displays but will also allow you access the whole of the Bomber Command Museum.
