AM 5U/88 Generator

Hi all, Anybody know any details (age , what type it might of come from etc?), of what looks to be an aircraft generator AM 5U/88.

Not in my possession so can add no further details..Pictures sent to me by a pal who is trying to ID the thing, any info gratefully received.
