Gipsy major 10-1 help

hello,
I have recently taken delivery of a Gipsy Major 10-1 engine for eventual use in a Ryan STA project I have.

The engine is complete, but no logs were included.
I would like to know if there is any chance via the engine serial number to determine any of its past,
As well, can anyone on the forum suggest suitable rebuild and parts facilities?
I am new to the Gipsy series, but I would imagine there is some real expertise out there.
I am frequently over in Europe, and mainly the UK, so that would be the logical location to start looking for parts and rebuild assistance.
